Riverside Park is located on the Southwest side of Murphysboro, Illinois, and is bordered by the Big Muddy River on the back side. It is a beautiful park that boasts one of only two existing concrete shell amphitheaters in the state of Illinois. At one hundred years of age it is the seventh oldest park in the state, and also features an accommodating baseball field with grandstands.
The Friends of Murphysboro as an organization, is always looking for motivated, creative individuals with a desire to make a difference in our area. By finding ways to involve area businesses and individuals in community based projects, we can improve Southern Illinois as a tourism location, and grow as a whole. Getting involved is very easy.
