As a not for profit organization, the Friends of Murphysboro Foundation is funded through fundraising events and donations. In fact our organization was started on money that was donated by a long time Murphysboro resident Chresta Lockard, who believed we were worth supporting from the beginning. In 2009 a bench overlooking the beauty of the Riverside Park band shell was erected in Chresta’s honor.
