Remembrance Walk
The Friends of Murphysboro are proud to spearhead a project to pave a remembrance walkw ay of bricks engraved with the names of Southern Illinois veterans. The Riverside Park war memorial will undergo a grand transformation to become the fitting tribute to our nations heros that it was always meant to be.
Paving a walkway in excess of 200 feet in length with engraved bricks is no small undertaking. Below are detailed plans for the future walkway that will connect the existing war memorial to the parks circle drive, providing handicap access to the memorial and honoring our regions veterans, while beautifying the already breathtaking setting of the 100 year old park.
